I joined after being bugged by Greg Jump for a few years....he told me that I could help the Association grow and help bowlers, so I said what the heck, and here I am.
My memories picking up the 7-10, but not seeing it, turned around and walked away because I thought that I missed it.....Going to Nationals with my dad.....being voted secretary/treasurer of the, then trades league, without being there to decline the opportunity.

I guess the main reason is because I thought that I'd be able to help the association give our bowlers better experiences by having more tournaments with different formats. A lot of our bowlers like these "fun" tournaments. My best bowling memory would have to be my 300 game in the Tuesday afternoon John Deere league.

I joined the GRICO board because I want to have an impact on future events/tournaments organized by GRICO and to further grow the sport of bowling. My best memory of bowling was when I shot my first 800 series. It just happened when I was bowling league with my dad. Him being there made it special.

I joined GRICO in the late 1990’s because I wanted to learn more about the sport and to see how things worked as a local association. Even though I didn’t elected for the original GRICO board, I was asked to join in the middle of that first season. I have always been a good note taker and every month I have to give my notes to the AM so he can write up minutes from the meetings. I have two thrills when it comes to bowling the first is when I bowled a 279 game and the second is the first time bowling at nationals, it was such a thrill.

I first got on the Rock Island BA in 1980 as a director in the 43 years I have I have held every position. I was Vice-President twice and President twice, I then became Executive Director which is now called the Association Manager back in the late 90’s. I don’t really remember why I wanted to run in the first place but I think a few adult beverages were involved, I asked he then President how you get on the board and he asked my name, I told him and he said you’ve just been nominated. I was also an associate director for the ABC before it became the USBC. I have worked with some great people in all those years (and some not so great). My biggest thrill was when I was with the ABC and they had a Midwest PBA Tournament at Highland Park, my cousin-in-law (Don Johnson) was standing there talking with one of the pros and he called me over and he said “Dick I want you to meet my cousin-in-law and I said it was a pleasure to meet you Mr. Weber, he said What’s this Mr Weber stuff call me Dick and it is a great pleasure to meet you and thank you for being with the ABC.
